A dream come true!! That is the only way I can describe this trip, the new faces, the new places, new food, it’s like a whole new world. My dream is to travel around the world and by going on this trip it felt like I am following my dream and seeing coming true right in front of my eyes. Did you ever get the feeling that finally the big prize you’ve been waiting for is in your hands right now, a present that god has been keeping for you finally here. That is how I felt when I heard that I was picked among eight students to travel to South Dakota, America for two weeks and the best thing is my parents stay home.
My parents weren’t that worried but when it was time to go to the airport my mom cried (I never expected her to, ever) and my dad was scared to death for me, he tried to hide it but I could see right through him. On the airplane I was anxious but not as the time we were finally there although I was exhausted. We spent the first three days in Brookings a small country town in South Dakota. We stayed at host family’s house and they were awesome and as each day passed I learned something new, had more fun but, also started to miss my parents and it showed in their emails and phone calls that they missed me even more.
On the fourth day we went to Rapid City a little bigger city and met the new host family. We stayed there for three days and the best thing there was that we finally went shopping. After that we went to Sioux Falls to attend the book festival in the holiday inn where we stayed for three days and we truly had a blast. Then we met the third host family and we went to stay over there. They had a little dog and when it first saw us it kept running after us (me and yassmine) it was so funny that everyone wanted to tape it and put it on Utube. After our stay there it was time to go home, we had a goodbye breakfast and started the journey back.
After a long journey I finally hugged my mom and was treated like a princess for almost two weeks!! Those two weeks were one of the best things that ever happened to me in my entire life and although I know it is a onetime thing if I had a wish upon a star I would do again and again in all the places on earth and definitely with all my great friends.
